Rising Irish filmmaker Ian Hunt Duffy has won a Distinction Award for his short film Gridlock at the 2017 Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF).
The EIFF jury stated that Gridlock “Suspenseful with a sprinkle of paranoia, this film circles back when least expected. Alfred Hitchcock would be proud.”
Gridlock was selected to screen at Belfast Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and the Nashville Film Festival in April.
Ian’s short film, about a father whose daughter goes missing during a country road trip, had a stellar year in 2016 winning major awards at Cork and Rhode Island film festivals and culminating in the Best Foreign Film Prize at LA Shorts Fest.
