Geremy Jasper’s Debut ‘Patti Cake$’ Opens this Week to Rave Reviews

Patti Cake$, the first feature from director Geremy Jasper (pictured right, with lead actress Danielle MacDonald, left), opens August 18 in U.S theaters after positive reviews from trade publications like The Wrap and Variety.

Patti Cake$ was well received during its festival run, with high profile screenings at Sundance and San Francisco Film Festival, culminating in being been selected as the closing film at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival Directors Fortnight.

Geremy was awarded the Directors to Watch Prize at the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival for Patti Cake$ as well as a Sundance Grand Jury nomination in the dramatic category.

The film also stars Australian actress Danielle McDonald as an aspiring rapper in New Jersey. The script was a 2014 SF Film Society & KRF Filmmaking Grant winner. Geremy’s previous shorts were Outlaws and Glamouriety.
