2017 Raindance Film Festival Announces Nominees for Best Debut Award

Raindance, the preeminent organization for independent film in the UK has announced its nominees for the 2017 Best Debut Discovery Award. The award is handed out during the 25th Raindance Film Festival, which runs Sept 2 – Oct 2 in London

Competing in the category are filmmakers including French director Rayhana Obermeyer with the debut feature I Still Hide to Smoke. The film earned Rayhana an Audience Award in the international competition at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. Also screening is Matan Yair’s Scaffolding, which won the Haggiag Award for Best Israeli Feature at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
