New Warwick Thornton Feature to Screen in Competition at Venice

Multi-award winning Australian director and cinematographer Warwick Thorton’s latest feature Sweet Country has been selected to screen in competition at the Venice Film Festival.

Warwick’s 110-minute film is a period western set in Australia’s northern frontier and stars Bryan Brown and Sam Neill.

He has scored multiple awards over the years, including an AACTA for Best Cinematography for The Sapphires (2012) and a Cannes Golden Camera for Samson and Delilah (2009). Most recently, Warwick’s documentary We Don’t Need A Map was nominated at the 2017 Sydney Film Festival.
