Nature: All Rights Reserved is directed by Sebastian Mulder and screens on June 21. Mulder’s essayistic documentary examines the context, experience and various forms of simulated nature. Artificial grass on the balcony, a conference room with a wallpaper forest, a palm beach in the dentist’s waiting room.
This short documentary examines the role of simulated nature in our society. To what extent does artificial nature meet the needs of city dwellers and where do the simulations fall short? Will artificial nature replace real nature one day? Nature: All Rights Reserved earned a Special Mention at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Lanzarote 2017 and won two awards : the ‘Go Short’ Encouragement Award for Best Student Film at EYE International Awards 2017 and for the Best Documentary Award at the Original Narative Film Festival in Dubai, 2017.
Sebastian Mulder was born in 1994. After finishing high school he went on to study film at The School Of Arts Utrecht. He recently graduated with the film Nature: All Rights Reserved. Sebastian Mulder is fascinated with the changing relationships between humans and nature and hopes to examine this subject more in his future work.
