#screensparks: Bill Watterson’s Debut Feature Sold to Gravitas Ventures

The Slamdance-winning first feature from actor and director Bill Watterson has sold its North American rights to Gravitas Ventures.

Dave Made a Maze is about “Dave, an artist who has yet to complete anything significant in his career, builds a fort in his living room out of pure frustration, only to wind up trapped by the fantastical pitfalls, booby traps, and critters of his own creation”. The film won important accolades in 2017 such as the Slamdance Audience Award, the One in a Million Award at Sun Valley and further audience awards at the Boston and Calgary underground film festivals.

It is due to be released on theaters and on demand on August 18.
