Diamond Island, the debut feature from Cambodian-French filmmaker Davy Chou is now available to stream free to US-based users.
The film, about an adolescent who leaves rural Cambodia to become a construction worker only to be reunited with his missing older brother, picked up two major Cannes Film Festival accolades last year, including the SACD Prize and an International Critics Week nomination. Diamond Island also screened as part of the New Directors/New Films program at MOMA in New York last month.
Previous to his first feature’s success, Davy’s 2014 short film Cambodia 2099 had been nominated at the Singapore International Film Festival .
