#screensparks: Dane McCusker’s ‘Angelfish’ to Screen at AspenShorts

Australian Film and Television School directing graduate Dane McCusker’s latest short Angelfish will screen in North America next month as part of AspenShortsFest.

Dane last made a mark in the U.S, winning the Jury Award for his short horror thriller Reception at the Hollywood International Student Film Festival in 2011. His other previous shorts include Last Bites, The Hand That Feeds and Swingers. Dane is currently working at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney.

Angelfish is about a guy who invites a girl home to see his angelfish after a night at the bar. Over the course of just a few minutes, a promising connection is cut off and a fish is no longer a fish. A taut exchange that examines acceptable behavior in dating and mating rituals.

AspenShorts Fest runs between April 4-9. More information on the program can be found here.
