#screensparks: swedish director ninja thyberg’s films to screen at prague short film festival

Emerging Swedish director Ninja Thyberg will screen a special selection of her short films at the Prague Short Film Festival this month. Ninja has gained a reputation for being an edgy director who is unafraid to address issues such as sexuality, gender and youth in her work. She has made nine short films in the past 4 years, five of which will screen as part of the Prague collection.

Ninja’s short film Pleasure won major awards at the Cannes Film Festival and the Stockholm Film Festival in 2013 and was nominated for a jury prize at Sundance. Her most recent short film Catwalk scored the Student Visionary Award at Tribeca Film Festival in 2015. Ninja is currently in development on her first feature based on her Pleasure short.

Ninja has a BA in film directing from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.
