#screensparks: mbithi masya’s ‘kati kati’ up for new auteur award at afi fest.

After popular showings at Toronto and Chicago film festivals this year, first time Kenyan director Mbithi Masya’s Kati Kati is up for an Audience Award in the New Auteurs category at AFI Fest.

Mbithi’s feature, which is about a young woman who struggles to assimilate in the afterlife with no memories of her past life, won the FIPRESCI Award, Discovery at the recent Toronto International Film Festival.

Fingers crossed Mbithi!
